Are you a foodie? In my household we have a saying when we travel.
"It's not a good trip unless you eat good." That goes the same while at home. Being from the South, we pretty much plan our lives around what we are going to eat next. We use restaurants as destinations. Events are not complete without some kind of meal attached to them. That being said, I can be honest with you about the mess that always seems to happen to me especially when I am dressed in my best "white" shirt. Inevitably, I'm going to spill something on myself. I usually will use some kind of napkin or dish towel then I thought to myself a bib is exactly what I need. Only a small baby bib won't suffice. I need a bib that will not only be functional; it also needs to be pretty cute. This pattern fits the bill. It is not too difficult to sew and it uses shrink-wrapped towels that can be purchased from a Dollar Store or Party Store. It would be a great gift for someone in the nursing home a shut in or for an older child who has the need for a bib but has outgrown the small ones. If you are looking for something for Father's Day, I bet Dad would appreciate it while eating his famous Bar B Q. Teenagers might even get a kick out of it; although they'll never tell you; they might use it when you aren't watching... The towels used on the bib are trademarked so the pattern is for personal use only and not to be sold commercially.
I happen to have an embroidery machine that I use for the embellishments at the top. If you don't have this, you can use puffy paint or maybe hand embroider on it. Stamping with ink and heat setting would also work. You can also sew a long version or a short version that you will see on the pattern. *Please Note* this is not a professional pattern and it is a hobby project of mine. The pattern instructions download link is below. It has multiple color pictures and pages with printable pieces.
I hope you enjoy it, share what you learn and are generous with what you make. Someone will enjoy your hard work.
